Description :	L'observation de traces d'arrachement sur la statue, au cours de sa restauration, a permis de constater qu'il s'agit d'un élément d'architecture, ce qui expliquerait également sa stature : elle a donc été arrachée d'un trumeau, ou encore d'un portail (sans doute du côté droit étant donnée l'attitude du saint, tourné vers la droite). Ceci est également confirmé par la présence d'un produit autrefois utilisé pour consolider les statues séjournant en extérieur. La provenance de cette statue est donc à étudier : s'agirait-il d'une statue du prieuré local (portail ?), du prieuré (Saint-Laurent ?) de Montcient, de la collégiale de Mantes (l'un des diacres du portail des Echevins) ?
