Précision_sur la representation :	Le Christ mort est étendu sur le sol, les bras en croix, au pied de la croix. Le Christ nous fait revivre sa passion par la disposition des bras ouverts au sacrifice dans une attitude d'abandon total. A côté de lui, le peintre a disposé la cape rouge du centurion, ainsi que sa lance qui a transpercé le coeur du Christ peu de temps auparavant. Le ciel plombé laisse apparaître une légère éclaircie. Le Christ est seul. La couleur froide et verte de l'ensemble de la peinture, et notamment de la tunique du Christ, s'oppose au rouge de la tenue du centurion, qui symbolise la violence et la passion.
